Florence, South Carolina Going North or South on I-95 A Travelers Terrific Stopover!

APtravelnews-January 25th, Frederick, MD.-“Bob and Barb on the Road Again-When we left our S. Florida home on the way to Frederick, MD to visit our sons new Market Street Fusion Restaurant, we again calculated that the half-way point for some rest, relaxation before heading another 500-miles was our favorite stopover; Florence, S. Carolina-this was not our first stopover there. Florence has one of the very best tourism representative in the Florence Convention and Visitors Bureau in the person of Holly Beaumier. She told us that the very new Home 2 Suites by Hilton would be a great place for us to visit as they are very pet friendly, and Terry our “Critter” who loves and is loved by everyone he meets along with us, would be comfortable there. And we were! Dinner was a wonderful experience as well! We ate at Victors in downtown Florence, an area totally being revitalized into all manner of shops and restaurant locations. Victors was in Hotel Florence and the fare was quite excellent-this was no off the highway fast food joint! Barb and I along with Holly and her associate enjoyed fish and various seafood and meat dishes. We topped our dinner off with wonderful desserts with a few excellent quite home-made cheesecake offerings-very memorable all the way around!

Bear With Me! Don’t Do This!

APtravelnews-Ely, Minnesota-A couple of summers ago! Barb and I wanted to see bears and we heard that there were wild bears at the Vince Shute Bear Viewing Sanctuary. Shute began leaving peanuts out for bears so they wouldn’t break into his cabin anymore. They weren’t tame at all, but were used to seeing people watching them. However, the people watched them from a distance and a safe viewing platform. We came before the platform was build and I took a chance letting Barbara get close to the sow bear and her cubs. In the image you can see the mother just before she turned and woofed at Barbara to stay back. The bear didn’t charge, Barb and I both got the picture we wanted and we both backed off. I shot this with a telephoto lens-frankly, Barb was way too close, but this time we got the bear, the bear didn’t get us!!!!

Back From Indianapolis, We Amazed Many at The Big Archery Trade Show, With Click-It Hot!

APtravelnews-January 15^th– Bob and Barb back in Port St Lucie, FL-Last week we took on 27-below degree wind chill in Indianapolis, Indiana to attend the ATA (Archery Trade Show) and assist Click-It Hot Use It Cold Company to show, tell and sell very neat reusable hand and body warmers. We worked with writers and editors as well as multi-media groups and bloggers in the Press Room, telling about these great products. It was so cold in the area that heat from the Click-It Hot’s was much appreciated and sought by just about everyone that visited the booth, and who we met in the Press Room.
