APtravelnews-January 23rd-PSL FL.-“Bob and Barb Not On the Road Again.” Today, if we were up north of FL.what and how would we handle the weather? Barb and I lived in NY and Vermont for many years and we saw lots of snow including some heavy blizzards. What did we do? We hunkered down with our kids, went sleigh riding,
snow balling and let the kids roll down the little hills near and on our Vermont home. No big deal, we had a wood stove, a fireplace, if power went out, and lamps, battery powered lighting and radio-never had problems!!! Today, so entrenched in being coddled by modernity people rely too much on it and when there is an emergency, they are not prepared. All they have mostly is their TV (if they have the power on), talking heads hyping how bad it is all over the snow theater, how many people out of power, how slick the roads are, accidents and how cold it is! OK! Get a handle on it people, its nature-natural for snow to fall, sometime heavy, icy and too slick to be out and about in it! So from aptravelnews.com; stay home, worry about cleaning off your vehicles and walkways later. Be with family, do the things our forefathers did, get a hobby, carve a bird, tie a fly, hug the kids and wife next to a roaring or quiet fireplace.Read that book you always wanted to, sit and eat together, talk and let the children talk. This time there’s no excuse, no golf with the guys, no excuses for not being a family man and woman. Be all you can be! G-D just told you so with snow!!!!
