We were really liking it all!

Very amazing scallops wrapped in duck bacon!
Appetizers for a king and a queen, or just you and me!
Our veal and scallop dinners with terrific veggies!

American Press Travel News- December 21st,-Port St. Lucie, FL.- Bob and Barb “On The Road Again” this time stopping at Zest Kitchen and Bar for dinner. And, so glad we did! We eat out quite often for reviewing all manner of dining places, and this one was quite special, indeed. We tried a couple of appetizers that were excellent, and filling enough for two, over -70 stomachs to enjoy, and comfortably feel satiated.

Snake River Farms Kobe Beef Sliders (2) were the perfect sized burgers, covered with caramelized onions, cheddar, Brioche and house fries. May I say, that the sea salt fries were extraordinarily good, and cut differently than the frozen fries from most all restaurants that use Cisco delivered fries. They were a meal treat for two without anything else. We also sliced into baked brie en croute, with cheery compote, crackers, blue berries, candied walnuts and Granny Smith Apples. We had pineapple juices, and then our main dishes came to table. Duck Bacon wrapped sea scallops, and Barb had New Zealand lamb chops. The accompaning veggies were amazingly tasty Brussel Sprouts, a sweet potato mash, and butternut squash, as well as a stuffed fat Idaho. Sauces were right on, and this meal before even, the Creme Broulet and chocolate filled cake dealie called Chocolate Panache topped with mousse and Chocolate Ganache. What a meal! Zest is located next door to Publics Food Store in Port St. Lucie, West. 772-249-4516 You can order in or out, they do have plenty of outdoor seating and their bar is complete! Give a call or drop by anytime at all. Checkout their menu and images online: zestkitchenbar.com

Barb enjoying EVERYTHING!

AmericanPressTravelNews.com-Dublin, GA.-November 7th,-Bob & Barb “On the Road Again and feasting again! We headed out from Page House B & B into town by car (although it was in walking distance) and stopped in front of Deano’s Italian Grill. We are familiar with the great tastes that come out of a wood-fired brick oven, and when I saw the massive grill full of various Italian dishes and pizzas being done to perfection in the black-body heat method (cooks through and through quickly and leaves all dishes moist and not dried out) of radiating cooking temperature, perfect for doing dishes perfectly, I sat down-period!

Pizza Bruni with fresh mozzarella and copicola sausage, basil and red onion.

Robert and Jennifer Shaffer owners and operators, both graduates of the Culinary Institute of America in New York, came from Florida to Dublin in 2010, to do their thing! And boy, do they do their thing. Their wait and cooking staff are really committed to this restaurant,  as besides loving the fare, they respect and like the owners as well, I learned this based on me asking a few of them how they like working at Deano’s.

So what did we eat, well, we popped a pizza, a chicken marsala dish, Calamari dish to perfection and then desserts to salivate over. So we were talked into a Crème Brule’ that was fab-plus!img_6218

Calamari was light floured and flash fried. It came with marinara and cherry pepper sauce. The citrus garden salad was crafted with strawberries, mandarin oranges, grapes candied walnuts and Gorgonzola cheese with balsamic vinaigrette.  The Chicken Marsala was a pan seared chick breast with delicious sauteed mushrooms, in roasted garlic butter and Marsala wine sauce. We finished our meal with Coffee and crème brule.

Tip of the Day:

Do you think you have a Thyroid Problem?

The thyroid is the most metabolically active gland in your entire body.  If your thyroid is functioning at full capacity, weightloss becomes relatively easy.  If it’s not, however — which is the case for most — losing even a single pound can become seemingly impossible.

5 Foods Doctors Swear By – Cancer Fighters Thrive

Do you want to super-charge your diet with some of the most outstanding foods for your health … but you’re not sure where to start? Or have you grown tired of broccoli and almonds, and you’re looking for a nutritious change of pace? The Huffington Post featured five of the top foods to consider; these are so good (and so good for you) that they’re endorsed by some of the top nutrition experts around.

1. Greek Yogurt

Gerard Mullin, MD, director of the Johns Hopkins Integrative GI Nutrition Services, recommends Greek yogurt for “palatability, satiation and protein content.” Plus, yogurt is an important source of probiotics, or beneficial bacteria that improve the health of your microbiome. He further explained:

Organic, grass-fed yogurt is best because you are getting a better omega fatty acid profile. When animals are fed corn they produce dairy with more omega-6s, but grass-fed animals produce dairy with more healthy omega-3s.”

2. Chickpeas

David Katz, M.D., M.P.H., F.A.C.P.M., F.A.C.P., Director of the Yale University Prevention Research Center, recommends chickpeas for their high protein content, which is especially useful if you’re trying to avoid or cut back on meat.

3. Dark, Leafy Greens

According to Donald D. Hensrud, M.D, M.P.H., chair of the Division of Preventive, Occupational, and Aerospace Medicine at the Mayo Clinic College of Medicine, dark leafy greens can’t be beat for their high nutritional content and low calories. He recommends arugula, spinach and lettuces prepared in a variety of ways – salads, pasta dishes, lasagna, pesto, soups and spinach pie.

4. Eggs

Robert Lustig, M.D., M.S.L., director of the Weight Assessment for Teen and Child Health (WATCH) Program at the University of California, San Francisco and president of the nonprofit Institute for Responsible Nutrition, recommends eggs for their high-quality protein, including tryptophan, which may help with weight management. He said:

“Eggs got a bad rap in the 1980s because of the cholesterol in the yolk. But it does not raise the small dense LDL, which is the atherogenic particle [the one that forms plaques in your arteries]. Eggs are great by themselves, with many different ways of preparation, or they can be added to foods easily.”

5. Avocados

Taz Bhatia, M.D., assistant professor at Emory University in Preventive/Integrative Medicine and director of the Atlanta Center for Holistic and Integrative Medicine, said she swears by avocados for their heart-healthy unsaturated fat. In addition to helping you feel full longer, avocados contain vitamins C, K and B6 along with pre- and probiotics for a healthy gut.
