Sweet Basil Italiano and Pistachio’s Ice Cream and Coffee Bar

American Press Travel News–Dec 17th, 2020–Port St. Lucie, FL-Bob and Barb “On the Road Again”-this time visiting and tastingat Sweet Basil Italiano and next door at Pistachio’s Ice Cream & Coffee Bar. We love chicken Francais! Their entree’ of this dish had chicken breast dipped in egg batter, sauteed in lemon butter sauce with herbs and served over a perfect al dente’ fettuccine. We also tried fresh little-neck clams Marinara. Frankly everything from their Margherita Pizza to garlic knots were spectacular! After dinner we went next door to the owners Pistachio’s Ice Cream and Coffee Bar. We finished off our dinner with desserts such as a banana split, and a Bubble Waffle Sundae. Of course we sent it down with a cup of Espresso. On a scale of 1-10 we gave both locations an 11. Located at 291 SE Port St. Lucie, Blvd. www.sweetbasilitaliano.com 772-333-2332. They deliver and open at 11:00 am. You can order online too!

American Press Travel News-Nov 30th-Bob and Barb “On the Road Again”–This time in Islamorada, FL Keys, for TG-Day with family-also visiting and tasting the best of Islamorada at Bayside Gourmet.

Several locally created micro-brewed beer options, are Keysie, pleasee!!!

We met Jaclyn and Anthony Boffice owners and our hosts, to get a taste of their offerings, and oh, what a treat we were in for.  We kicked off our meal with Lobster Bisque. The bisque’s flavor and texture on a scale of 1-10 was an easy 10.

She brought out her Signature Meatballs, an appetizer perfect for the cooler weather enjoyment of real, hearty meat. The Margherita pizza was superior to all the veggie pizzas I have had anywhere. We imaged the Tavernier sandwich, made on home- made focaccia bread gently warmed with its topping of fresh mozzarella, imported prosciutto, tomato, fresh basil drizzled with virgin olive oil (we boxed this for a later meal, how much can we eat, after-all ?) Veal Parmesan also boxed after tasting-um-um great< and then the Chicken al la Gourmet (panic and herb encrusted chicken breast pan-fried and topped with sun-dried tomatoes, fresh spinach and aged provolone served over rice pilaf with a balsamic reduction) was tabled. Couldn’t stop the mangia effect. WOW! We finished up with coffee and
Jersey Shore Cheesecake (whipped – one of their signature dishes).   Barb and I added up our 1-10’s, and there was no dishes rated under 10-plus!  We took all we could not fit in our stomachs for a later, or a tomorrow buffet of tastes. Give a call, and head right over when you can. Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner and they have a bakery of all home-made cakes, pies and bread products-Fer get about it, but not their number-305-664-2002

APtravelnews-Nov. 19th, Maggie Valley, N.C.-Nothing makes a visit to an area your not familiar with, more familiar and friendly than a great local, Mama Leoni type restaurant. Frankie’s is just that; a terrific mama’s type (homemade with love by mama) restaurant.

With friendly folk all around, even his Honor the Mayor of Waynesville and his wife as well as local successful business folks too, how can you have a bad experience, especially when the food was “killer” great! We also tried one of our table-mates Eggplant dish and after finishing our meal (we only left damp plates) we dove into desserts. Cheesecake rocked us with a topping of delicious strawberries that totally complimented the New York style creamy and tasty cake!

Frankie’s is located at 1037 Soco Rd. Maggie Valley–828-926-5216
