AmericanPressTravelNews-Sept. 23rd, Florida Keys–Bob and Barb “On the Road again?” Yes, we are booked to do an updated book of our original sold-out book: “The Best Restaurants in the Florida Keys.” The first book reviewed 60-Florida Keys restaurants, many still in business, some not since the 1980’s. The book had distinctly tropical recipes, comments on each page by charter captains about their favorite restaurants and dishes, collected articles from my column in the Miami Herald, and many of my own recipes one of which is being served in many restaurants across the country; “Fish Pizzaiole.”  There have been nearly 100-new restaurants opened in the Keys since the 1980’s and Bob and Barb have been tasked to include them in the new book while updating all the original food emporiums they visited and tasted. This book will be hard-cover, full-color, and with an expanded Keys recipe section from the best of the best in the Keys!

For an original signed copy of the last 25 books I have held on to, contact Bob Epstein 772-812-0933 or [email protected]

WILMINGTON DELAWARE – A GREAT PLACE TO VISIT

Our destination hotel was as comfy as any we've ever stayed in.

WWW.AMERICANPRESSTRAVELNEWS.COM – August 2016, Wilmington, Delaware–Bob and Barb “On the Road Again.”  There is so many wonderful things to do in Wilmington Delaware.  After checking in to the Double Tree by Hilton, and only having two days, it was hard to pick the best most enjoyable things to do in such a short time. The first thing that we did was take a tour of the hotel. After looking at the beautiful swimming pool, we decided that no matter how

Summer or winter this pool is kept just at the right temperature!

busy we will be in the next couple of days, we must try out the pool. Of course they had an exercise room with upscale machines. Our room was clean and comfortable. In the mornings we enjoyed the breakfast buffet that had little omelets and very good coffee, the coffee makes a place.

The location was very easy to get to with ample parking. We immediately  scheduled a time to shop next door at the mall to take advantage of the shopping without paying any sales tax. Please take a look at our next post that tells of the museums, the lucious and spectacular of Longwood Gardens ,Andrew Wyeth, The Brandywine River Museum and bunch more amazing places we were able to take in, in DE.

The Florida Keys, Please! For Real Fishermen, a Trip To America’s Caribbean Islands Is a Must!

Jennifer picked a winner of a dish too! Shrimp rice and Louisiana sausage. Looks so good I can eat again with someone else's stomach!
Eating fresh seafood’s in the Keys is dangerous! Why? After swooning to tastes that you just don’t find in a frozen thawed seafood place and fried to make it somewhat palatable, the fresh dishes in many Keys restaurants, rule!!! Its hard to go back to the garbage you had gotten used to on the mainland!

AmericanPressTravelNews.com-June 9th, Key Largo, FL.-Correspondent Brian E.on a “tear” to find his snapper dinner! When I go fishing, I look for fish that I can broil or saute fresh and sweet au natural! When my parents come down from further north in Florida, to visit, I make sure they can get a snook filet or a fine snapper baked up for them! I was raised in the Keys, and now I find myself going back to where I had the best time of anyone’s life; the Keys!

For snapper or any predator, live or fresh shrimp, pilchards and the best, baby mullet are best baits! My success in catching, not just fishing is in direct correlation to being able to match the hatch, so to speak! Jigs, and other artificial’s such as spoons in active bait fish colors like lures from Al’s Goldfish, work great too, and often I just cannot get the baits I want, so I do rely on these artificial’s that really mimic the real thing, so I don’t go home empty handed for dinner! So much fishy waters, so many species to target, so many sunsets to relax in. Diane and I can’t wait to once again spend full-time in the Keys again!

A VIP Keys fishing buddy!
Even President Bush remembers using Al’s Goldfish Lures. He was a fan of Gaddabout Gaddis and watched the Flying Fisherman TV programs as so many dyed- in -the- wool anglers did too!

Tip of the Day:

Do you think you have a Thyroid Problem?

The thyroid is the most metabolically active gland in your entire body.  If your thyroid is functioning at full capacity, weightloss becomes relatively easy.  If it’s not, however — which is the case for most — losing even a single pound can become seemingly impossible.

5 Foods Doctors Swear By – Cancer Fighters Thrive

Do you want to super-charge your diet with some of the most outstanding foods for your health … but you’re not sure where to start? Or have you grown tired of broccoli and almonds, and you’re looking for a nutritious change of pace? The Huffington Post featured five of the top foods to consider; these are so good (and so good for you) that they’re endorsed by some of the top nutrition experts around.

1. Greek Yogurt

Gerard Mullin, MD, director of the Johns Hopkins Integrative GI Nutrition Services, recommends Greek yogurt for “palatability, satiation and protein content.” Plus, yogurt is an important source of probiotics, or beneficial bacteria that improve the health of your microbiome. He further explained:

Organic, grass-fed yogurt is best because you are getting a better omega fatty acid profile. When animals are fed corn they produce dairy with more omega-6s, but grass-fed animals produce dairy with more healthy omega-3s.”

2. Chickpeas

David Katz, M.D., M.P.H., F.A.C.P.M., F.A.C.P., Director of the Yale University Prevention Research Center, recommends chickpeas for their high protein content, which is especially useful if you’re trying to avoid or cut back on meat.

3. Dark, Leafy Greens

According to Donald D. Hensrud, M.D, M.P.H., chair of the Division of Preventive, Occupational, and Aerospace Medicine at the Mayo Clinic College of Medicine, dark leafy greens can’t be beat for their high nutritional content and low calories. He recommends arugula, spinach and lettuces prepared in a variety of ways – salads, pasta dishes, lasagna, pesto, soups and spinach pie.

4. Eggs

Robert Lustig, M.D., M.S.L., director of the Weight Assessment for Teen and Child Health (WATCH) Program at the University of California, San Francisco and president of the nonprofit Institute for Responsible Nutrition, recommends eggs for their high-quality protein, including tryptophan, which may help with weight management. He said:

“Eggs got a bad rap in the 1980s because of the cholesterol in the yolk. But it does not raise the small dense LDL, which is the atherogenic particle [the one that forms plaques in your arteries]. Eggs are great by themselves, with many different ways of preparation, or they can be added to foods easily.”

5. Avocados

Taz Bhatia, M.D., assistant professor at Emory University in Preventive/Integrative Medicine and director of the Atlanta Center for Holistic and Integrative Medicine, said she swears by avocados for their heart-healthy unsaturated fat. In addition to helping you feel full longer, avocados contain vitamins C, K and B6 along with pre- and probiotics for a healthy gut.
