Peace River Seafood Market Where They Come From as Far Away as Maryland!

 

AmericanPressTravelNews-Feb 17th,-Punta Gorda, FL.–Bob and Barb “On The Road Again.” This time visiting Port Charlotte and Punta Gorda’s great down-home seafood restaurant: Peace River Seafood Market.  We dove into a variety of seafoods from blue claw, to Stone Claw, from steamed Apalachicola’s oysters to Horseshoe Beach clam, great blue crab-claws, and from lobster bites to smash and grab whole blue crabs, and to one of my very favorites soft shelled crabs.  We cut to the chase by first tasting Thornton Branch Gator Gumbo replete with some gator chunks, shrimp, Cajun sausage and crab on saffron rice. So you too can travel great distances to Peace River Seafood Market and find the trip was so well worth it!  Ask for Larry Corbin, the GM, He alone is worth meeting irrespective of the incredible seafood you’ll experience!  Located at 5337 Duncan Rd. Cracked Conch Cafe Marathon in the Keys-Terrific!

Since 1979, this Cafe sells breakfast to 4 PM, and open 7-days per week. The food here is quite extraordinarily good. So many different dishes-how about conch with poached eggs, with fried oysters, fish, Bolo ham,or strip steaks, Coast of Italy sauteed shrimp with eggs and roasted peppers, or Taylor Pork Roll sauteed with eggs, and all the above with incredible Hollandaise sauce. Barb loves a meat dish once and awhile too! She found it at Leroy's. This (short ribs) beef was succulent ! She ate as much as she wanted and I kissed off the rest of my naked crab and slayed what was left of her beef cow! Loved it even as it was cooled down! If it tasted great hot or cold its truly great beef!

Marker 88 Restaurant a View to Dream About and Food-Fare to Remember

Coconut Shrimp! A whole lot above the bar as far as deliciousness!
As the sun sets, cool music, relaxation with a bit of wine and a fine cooling Gulf of Mex. breeze. Paradise!
Toasting the sun and mood-both in sync of paradise found!

 

 

 

 

 

 

Filet and crab. The dish was superbly crafted and I complemented the chef as a food critic and writer. The rice and beans accompaniment balanced out what was a perfect entree’. 

A Florida Keys Lobster Tail accompanied by there idea of mac and cheese. Superb!!

Located on one of the few natural beaches in the Florida Keys 88 is an easygoing beachfront bar & grill showcasing local seafood & cocktails. Since 1970’s we’ve stopped here for dinner on a monthly basis. So today, judging by the fact that our premier test for a great restaurant is  “consistency” Marker 88 is terrific!
