Little Italy Restaurant and Pizza

American Press Travel News–February 11th–Bob and Barb “On The Road Again” and dining our way along the Treasure Coast of Florida. Under new management, several changes were made including brightening up a formerly dark place. Today, home made, traditional Italian desserts and specialty offerings are part of a 200-hundred item menu. Home made soups, large portions of accompanying pastas, and a wide variety of salads, and specialty items grace the multi-page menus. We jumped into stuffed pepper soups, and a Fagioli accompanied by great garlic knots (rolls). Then out came a delicious cheese pizza, followed by a terrific eggplant and a chicken Parmigiana. We loved the sauces that were less acidic then what we remembered having at more than one or another Italian restaurant. We like that acoustically, the restaurant was not noisy despite the fact that there were many patrons dining there. We did really finish off our meals with two spectacular made in house desserts: Tiramasu beyond belief in taste and Tur Tofo, an Italian ball of ice creams covered in dark chocolate. Frankly, two of the best desserts I’ve had in a long time. Located off of NW St.Lucie  Blvd. Opening soon is their new deli, too!

American Press Travel News-October 29th,—-Port St Lucie, FL.–Bob and Barb “On The Road Again” and Stopping to Smell the Pizza’s and entree’s at Estella’s Pizzeria. Who doesn’t love authentic Italian dishes? Well, at Estella’s they are here in abundance, thanks to the Frankel family, and their kitchen and wait crew. Our waitress, Nichole, cook, Nick and Mel helped us try numerous dishes, and one of the best Antipasto salads ever. The dishes such as Shrimp Fra Diavolo, an amazing al dente’ spaghetti dish with Calamari, in gentle Marinara sauce, and a white pizza with Ricotta, mozzarella real garlic, grated cheese and olive oil and lots of home-boxes too!  So many choices, such small stomachs! We also had Lobster Tail, a vanilla pudding filled croissant-like dessert and of course we didn’t forget the Connoli, WOW great!! Open Sunday -Thursday 11-AM-9-PM and Friday & Saturday 11 AM-10 PM. Shrimp Shack Puts Out Great Seafood and Traditional Fare Fused With a Caribbean Flair

Shrimp fritters, moist and extremely tasty. The Cracked Conch-a favorite of mine and about a million other Keys visitors!

AmericanPressTravelNews-Sat January 14th, Islamorada, FL. Bob and Barb just invaded the Shrimp Shack for their seafood fixes.

Nautical all the way! Comfort food, and beverages that will please any palate!
Shrimp and Grits was so tasty, we are spoiled again! The sauce is king with this dish-combined with the correct grit flavors and consistency, as well as, naturally super-fresh shrimp and voila!
Chicken loaded with an incredible sauce and veggie melange! Called the Continental Chicken dish!

I love Conch, no not just the Conch Republic, but the big Sea Cow browser called the Conch, a gentle delicious snail that lives in a mini palace people from around the world collect at shell shops, and road-side gift displays, to sit on their do-dad tables. At the Shrimp Shack the critter is fried and served with a pungent sauce that is about the best slice of seafood possible. The Shrimp Shack is a family owned business that opened in Dec. 2011. Since that time they have been serving delicious food to their customers and have become a “go-to-place” for Islamorada, FL. Keys locals. The restaurant is run by the mother, daughter team of Jill and Morgan who bring out their family recipes from their kitchen and onto the plate. They were discovered by Guy Fieri and were featured on Diners Drive-in’s and Dives! Guy who has eaten his way across America loved the shrimp Fritters as we did and the “Senator” style local catch of the day. The episode is named “Smoke and Seafood.” They are closed Wednesday’s and are located at 81901 Overseas Highway, Islamorada, FL just down from The Guy Harvey Outpost Resort.  Phone: 305-664-8443 email: islamoradashrimpshack@aol.com
