Fly Fishing Sometimes Nets a 24-Inch Rainbow on 5-Weight 2-Pound Tippet AmericanPresstravelNews–February 27th, Bob and Barb “On the Road Again” & Stopping to Wet a Line! So here we were on the Chattahoochee River at a Restaurant. Well, as I always carry my fly rod along I decided to head down to the river and drop a hopper! Well, this 24-inch rainbow had to have it. It took a bunch of reel and rod moves, but got it for a pic and release. Frankly, one of the best fights I had on my early Orvis graphite rod I have now for the past 46-years. My little CFO handled it, I got lucky and the tippet 2-pound test didn’t hit any rocks. I still have Georgia on my mind for this year too! Nice that from my TN. farm “Goose Holler'” its only a few hour drive to some great Blue Ridge streams and rivers.
Images of the Week! Yes, its cold outside. My week in the Catskills researching big browns on the Battenkill River for Eastern Fly Fishing Magazine. It was pleasantly cool, now its a freezer full! APtravelnews-Bob and Barb “On The Road Again.”—Catskill Mountains “when its nice.” The prettiest Brown Trout I ever caught and released. Mary Dette has tied fly’s all her life and her fly’s are highly sought for use and art display! A fine chunky brown trout from the Battenkill River! Another face to face meeting with “Mr. Brown.”
