“When it comes to modern times, we all love the conveniences that this age has afforded us, like new technologies, fast cars, and new ways of enjoying everyday things like amazing dinners. However, it is also fun to step back in time and spend an evening learning more about another way of life”, said the Inns owners.

When Theodore Roosevelt was elected President in an another time and era in the American dream, he knew there was place for all Americans in the outdoors experience. Travelers to Saluda and through it and heading for the East, had to make the Saluda Grade. A very steep uphill run. The little town became famous as the place where the old trains such as this old timer had to puff a whole lot harder to make the grade!
The town of Saluda, NC is famous for what had become known as the “Saluda Grade.” Considered a true feat of railroadsmanship to make it up that grade. But today, Saluda and the Orchard Inn is easily accessible by auto.
