Cracked Conch Cafe Marathon in the Keys-Terrific!

AmericanPressTravelNews-February 12th, Bob & Barb “On the Road Again” this time in Marathon, near the 7-Mile Bridge at the Cracked Conch Cafe!

Since 1979, this Cafe sells breakfast to 4 PM, and open 7-days per week. The food here is quite extraordinarily good. So many different dishes-how about conch with poached eggs, with fried oysters, fish, Bolo ham,or strip steaks, Coast of Italy sauteed shrimp with eggs and roasted peppers, or Taylor Pork Roll sauteed with eggs, and all the above with incredible Hollandaise sauce. Look them up on the web at: www.conchcafe.com and check out all their many dishes. Located at 4999 Overseas Hwy. Marathon, Florida Keys 305-743-2233

Conch in wine sauce, lots of mushrooms and incredible chewy, tasty conch-so love this dish!
Eggs Florentine with spinach, mushrooms, w/Hollandaise sauce! What a breakfast meal!

DJ’s Diner & Seafood Grill Like the 1950’s Great Foods, Great Service-Very Nice People!

AmericanPressTravelNews- Feb.-11th, Bob and Barb “On The Road Again” this time in Key Largo at DJ’s Diner & Seafood Grill.

Besides waffles, pancakes, eggs any way you like, we probably enjoyed the best pot roast luncheon ever! D.J. Miller owner was the 1st Miami Subs franchisee, and he was instrumental in creating their menu. D.J. told me he decided to follow his family tradition and keep the spirit of a 50’s diner, at the same time being trendy and a crossover to classy and sexy foods, too! Here you can get a fab burger, or a grouper piccata, a salad with fish or shrimp, or just the fore mentioned incredible meat and taters. Formerly the Port Largo Coffee Shop opened in 1957, the newer D’J’s opened in the same location in 2000. Very highly recommended!

D.J’s Diner & Seafood Grill is located on 99411 Overseas Hwy, Key Largo, FL 33037 (305) 451-2999.  djsdinerkeylargo@aol.com

Key Largo Conch House

A platter that still brings salivation! Crab cake, coconut shrimp, cracked conch, ceviche of lobster and conch, conch fritters and mango sauces as well as other tropical dips.

AmericanPressTravelNews-Feb. 12th, Bob & Barb @On The Road Again- The Key Largo Conch House, owned by the Dreaver family was a treat. Just a few meters from the Overseas Highway, yet feeling like a Key West hide-away, this special restaurant is a true mom, pop and family affair. When Emeril Lagasse visited to tape a show that aired in 2015, they were ready as they are for anyone coming to relax and dine either inside or on the Key West style porches. Barb and I found out how great this restaurant is when we enjoyed a very special watermelon salad, a strawberry spinach salad, true conch chowder, WOW! We also tried a platter of seafood goodies, such as fried conch, lobster & conch ceviche, coconut shrimp, and mango crab cakes along with conch fritters too! Their varied menu for breakfast and lunch will serve anyone’s palate and tastes to a “T.” Try their strawberry salad, watermelon salad, coffees like no others and amazing beers and smoothies. Eggs Benedicts and omelettes your way. Getting married, they also cater to your best needs and pocketbooks!

Key Largo Conch House  is located at 100211 Overseas Hwy, Key Largo, FL 33037 305-453-4844. They are open 6 days, from 8 a.m. to 10:00 P.M.  www.keylargoconchhouse.com

Barb loves a meat dish once and awhile too! She found it at Leroy's. This (short ribs) beef was succulent ! She ate as much as she wanted and I kissed off the rest of my naked crab and slayed what was left of her beef cow! Loved it even as it was cooled down! If it tasted great hot or cold its truly great beef!
