www.americanpresstravelnews.com -Sept. 14th, Dunkirk, NY.- Bob and Barb “On The Road Again”- While visiting sites along Lake Erie, we visited Dunkirk, New York. The Dunkirk lighthouse is a must see if you are traveling through. The 61 foot tower still has its original third order Fresno lens. The lights 27-mile range makes Dunkirk one of the most prominent on Lake Erie. Tours include the original historic home of the lighthouse keepers along being able to go up to the lighthouse tower. The tale is that the home is haunted and has haunted tours. Go get haunted, ha, ha! For additional information visit their website at : www.dunkirklighthouse.com.

WILMINGTON DELAWARE – A GREAT PLACE TO VISIT

Our destination hotel was as comfy as any we've ever stayed in.

WWW.AMERICANPRESSTRAVELNEWS.COM – August 2016, Wilmington, Delaware–Bob and Barb “On the Road Again.”  There is so many wonderful things to do in Wilmington Delaware.  After checking in to the Double Tree by Hilton, and only having two days, it was hard to pick the best most enjoyable things to do in such a short time. The first thing that we did was take a tour of the hotel. After looking at the beautiful swimming pool, we decided that no matter how

busy we will be in the next couple of days, we must try out the pool. Of course they had an exercise room with upscale machines. Our room was clean and comfortable. In the mornings we enjoyed the breakfast buffet that had little omelets and very good coffee, the coffee makes a place.

The location was very easy to get to with ample parking. We immediately  scheduled a time to shop next door at the mall to take advantage of the shopping without paying any sales tax. Please take a look at our next post that tells of the museums, the lucious and spectacular of Longwood Gardens ,Andrew Wyeth, The Brandywine River Museum and bunch more amazing places we were able to take in, in DE.

AmericanPressTravelNews.com—August 21st,-Bob & Barb in Blue Ridge for– “On The  Road Again” and “Stopping to Smell the Roses” Columns.

Not very far from our Goose Holler’ farm inTennessee and about 2-hours from Atlanta can be found a very enjoyable vacation hill, mountain region and town called Blue Ridge, in Fannin County. There are so many interesting stores catering to what a visitor and new home owner would enjoy bringing home to decorate and or use in their abodes. After and before also peering into the windows and crossing the threshold of several gift and antique shops, we ventured into a premier harvest to table, local produce and foods emporium called; “Harvest On Main.”  It’s interesting to know that the owners; the Cook’s, purchased a 28-acre property and created a farm that is their culinary garden and teaching center—for the production of their specialty produce, as well as eggs and honeys.

They offer very fine farm to table dinners, plus farm to table classes for kids. There is much more on the horizon in the Cook’s desire to be as food independent and fresh with all manner of farm meats and other items for their restaurant.

Comfortable and spacious with a strong feeling of being in a mountain home.

We met Chef Danny, and his dishes are authentic and studied- delicious for diners. Danny does rely on all surrounding farms in and around Blue Ridge, as they also provide the special ingredients used by Chef Danny. We ordered on the menu lisiting, pecan encrusted Bramlett Farms of GA. Trout, Pecan Sweet potatoes, citrus Beurre Blanc with Lemon Arugala salad. And, we chose a special of the evening: Rockfish pan seared (Striped Bass) roasted Tomatillo and black bean soup with white rice finished with Avocado and corn salsa “multi belle.” The dishes were memorable and worth every cent!
