Reverie produces its own seasonal cheeses and also carries a variety of cheeses and goodies from around the world with a focus on small, American, artisanal companies. Reverie is dedicated to using local ingredients and collaborating with a range of local artisans. Their artisan products reflect a meaningful relationship to the land and Western New agricultural heritage. Because Reverie Creamery selections of cheese varies seasonally, there always new things to try. They started as a cheese store selling a selection of Artisan cheeses, but soon began making their own fresh cheese. They are dedicated to using local agricultural products that they continue to market.

Besides their cheeses, their store is full of local food products and handmade items such as carving boards, ceramics, and many other beautiful locally made gifts.They also have cheese & wine pairings, harvest dinners, and many other events. After the cheese tastings, we were ready for lunch. Just a short drive later we arrived at the Upper Crust Bakery and Soup Co. on Main Street in Fredonia, New York.

Their sandwiches look so big, so I ordered a half of homemade tuna with a bowl potato soup. Of course when I looked in the desert case, just had to have one of their delights. Hard to make a decision. They had cinnamon buns, pecan buns, blueberry and raspberry clouds and much more. With my raspberry cloud enjoyed a fresh cup of espresso.

Work Sharp Outdoor Sharpeners

Bob and Barb “On The Road Again”–New Product of the week: The Ken Onion Edition Knife & Tool Sharpener; a Work Sharp Outdoor Product of distinction. Nothing is more frustrating or dangerous than a dull blade when doing any cutting job. A blade needs to be sharp and cut exactly where the cutting is needed in a precise way. A dull blade does cut, but it may, and often cuts and slips to the hand or the body part of the user. This newly designed product (saw it recently at Bass Pro Shops) has now been in my hands for a week and nothing in the kitchen or sporting equipment room is dull anymore. After the kitchen knives now keenly sharp and ready for any job, my hunting knife, pocket knife,scissors hand ax and even my mower blade is ready to cleanly cut for its intended usages.

A bit about the tool. The unit is sturdy, and features 5-different grits of flexible Abrasive Belts, has a sharpening guide that runs bevels from 15-30-degrees. It sharpens knives and tools and the WSKTS-KO performs as described and recommended. What I was looking for was a tool that creates precise, repeatable bevels on any knife with the adjustable sharpening guide. It had to sharpen to any angle between 15-30-degrees to get the right edge for the job I was trying to do. Tennessee Historical Sojourn

American Press Travel News–August 10th, 2018–Update April 11th, 2019–Bob and Barb on the Road Again, this time in Morristown, TN.–Interesting time in an interesting part of TN. Barb and I love historical museums and places that exude memorable places. There is so much known, but far more unknown about the Civil War period in America. Seems many eople just cannot get enough of it! Here we were in Morristown, TN. great places to dine, neat antique shops, original homes of famous folk such as Davy Crockett and Civil War Generals to name a few. Bet you didn’t know that people before the 1900’s were smaller than folks of today. To get on a horse they needed help, voila, step-ups of stone for mounting a horse, uniforms any uniforms were hand stitched and provided by special tailors and seamstresses. Hat makers too were in demand. Machines were few hands were many. Weapons of the past were also hand crafted, heavy and slow to reload, but today they are magnificent works of mostly handcrafted works of highly sought after art. Of course, you gotta eat when on assignment, and Morristown has great “eats.” Crabcakes and Pineapple Steaks, huh?
